Local planning

In its Local Plan, adopted in December 2017, Derbyshire Dales District Council identified the need for an additional at least 5,680 new homes to be built by 2033. This included a provision for approximately 150 new homes and 2.0 hectares of employment land at Land off Middleton Road as well as approximately 645 new homes with a convenient local centre retail facilities and class B1 office development at Middle Peak Quarry.

This need has come about because of population changes, in-migration and economic growth.
